Sister's love
With the pandemic changing lives of many I came across a brother (Arya) and his sister (Sana) who were stuck in their house. Both are doing WFH for their MNC's. Since precaution is better than cure the maid is on leave, and Sana almost single-handedly does all the household works alone along with her official work. Arya also tries to help his sister out by serving meals or at times by collecting the clothes that she had left on the terrace for drying or a few other small chores. He does all of this not because Sana forces him for help but because he realizes the kind of effort Sana is putting at her end. Even though he does so little to help her she has no further expectations. She is happy with all the little help she has got. There is always a bright and beautiful smile on her face! Maybe the beautiful smile has many untold stories hidden behind it.Friends forever
When I was working I came across two friends/colleagues, Yami and Nik. Yami trusted Nik so much that she would share all her secrets with him. They shared a very special bond of friendship. But Nik was one ignorant fool and a lazy bum. So every day when he would be bored and didn't feel like working he would go to Yami and ask her to finish his work. That stupid girl would do it without hesitating. Whenever anyone saw Nik and Yami together, Yami was always smiling as she had told everyone that she has zero expectations from Nik. Maybe all she needed was a little emotional support. I wish he knew how to read between the lines because he always misunderstood her smile for her happiness. Sometimes when emotions are left unaddressed or ignored, it hurts!Understanding daughter
I happened to know a daughter (Gautami) and her father (Prakash). Gautami is autistic. She has the most beautiful smile in this world. After a busy day at work, Prakash returned home in the evening. When Gautami heard his bike sound, she ran out on to the balcony to see her dad. The sweet sound of his bike made her forget the hard day of crying she had because she knew it was time for her ride with her dad! It's not easy being autistic as there isn't much that she can do as per her will. All our actions are constantly monitored and controlled for her good. But this simple moment that comes every day in her life brings a beautiful smile on her lips. That smile is so beautiful that all the tensions Prakash had, would fade away for a moment. However, for this one day, Prakash had to cancel the plan as he was exhausted and felt so weak. One would have expected her to throw tantrums but Gautami sat next to her dad on the sofa and hugged him so tight as if she understood that he was sick. She couldn't speak yet she said a million words. It was a moment you capture in your heart and cherish it all your life. She has very few moments of happiness throughout her day but still, she chooses to let it go for her dad's happiness! Prakash couldn't resist the tears of happiness and he took her out for a ride despite his health.Teacher
Kids are usually scared of going to school. When I knew I had to go to school I cried so badly hoping that my mother would not let me go but that didn't happen. On my first day of school, I met Shanta ma'am. Every day she would pick me up from the school entrance. For the first time, I met a woman who wasn't family but it sure did feel like she was a part of it. Life at school became really easy because she taught me how to have fun. I wasn't special but she sure did make me feel special although I was one among the most troublesome kids in the class. I may have not made her life easy but she made mine. Maybe it was all because her smile was just as beautiful as my mom's.To all women
Men can be good, bad, understanding, assholes, etc, but women are always great! Sometimes we get lost in this patriarchal society, sometimes our ego makes us demean women. Sometimes we are so self-obsessed that we forget to notice their worth and sacrifice or sometimes we are just too dumb! No matter how just we try to be, our behavior directs to a paradigm of injustice. Women have made innumerable sacrifices at every stage of their life just to keep men happy irrespective of the relationship they shared. We as men might never be able to do justice to women but the least we can do is never let that smile (in its purest form) fade away. Because that smile is what has made our life so beautiful! That smile is where it all began!
LOVE YOU ALL! Maybe I can afford to lose anything but her smile!
